John K. Kane letter to Jane Duval Leiper Kane, 1831 September 22
Scope and Contents
Letter from John K. Kane to Jane Duval Leiper Kane giving more instructions about taking the steamboat, telling her that Robert Crosby has died and the rest of the family still suffers from illness, saying that he has dined with Andrew Jackson, and informing her about preparations for the Wistar party (an annual party for intellectuals started by Caspar Wistar). He says this has been the longest separation between she and him. The letter is torn and there is some text missing. Dated September 22, 1831.
