One of the activities of the Red Vanguards, a youth organization found everwhere in the Chinese Soviet areas, is the recruiting and training of scores of youngsters to study dramatics and dancing and create village and Red Army theatrical troupes. These Shensi girls are wearing smart modern middies and shorts for a dance in one of their plays called 'United Front' symbolizing the mobilization of all China's armed forces to resist the Japanese.
