Scope and Contents
Contains letters from Alvin Fielding Smith to his wife Amelia Atkins Smith, or "Millie," and his daughter Ruth, or "Ruthie." Smith writes from Liverpool, England and London, England, where he served as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to his family in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his letters, he includes daily mission affairs, references to correspondence with other family and acquaintances, matters at home, and outings with members of the Church. Christmastime is mentioned often, as well as Smith's thoughts on the juxtaposition of the wealthy and the poor during the holiday festivities. Holidays, birthdays, and news in London are also recorded. Dated December 5, 1906 - December 31, 1906.
