Photocopy of an article from "The Community," a publication of The Southeast Missouri Rural Community Association, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The article is titled "Some bits of history of Missouri Mormon War: from personal papers of Col. Joseph Hawkins, Gasconade Volunteers." The article includes transcriptions of many of the items that comprise this collection, and puts them in context of Hawkins' service in the Missouri Mormon War. Photocopied from the original in the Missouri State Historical Society. Dated August 1924.
