Scope and Contents
Contains Alvin Fielding Smith's letters to Amelia Atkins during their courtship. The letters are written from: Montpelier, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; Nampa, Idaho; and Saint Louis, Missouri to Atkins in Salt Lake City, Utah. Smith writes of his affection for Amelia, or "Millie," his meetings and outings with business associates, details of his daily life and business dealings, and mentions correspondence with other family and friends. Some of the materials include anecdotes of Smith's visit to the World's Fair in Saint Louis. Souvenirs and ephemera are mixed in with the letters. Dated January 1, 1903 - April 30, 1903.
