When the West Was Wild. Projected book of Hooker's essays, some previously published. Hooker sent the essays to Ellison for possible publication in Midwest Review (if previously unpublished), as additions to RSE's source files in exchange for typescripts, and for possible inclusion in a book with the above title. Some evidence exists that the book was published: see the correspondence above and the description thereof. The manuscripts are arranged below in alphabetical order by title.
