Biographical History

Hans E. Kindt was born in 1922 in Schneidemuehl, East Germany (now Poland). His parents were converts to the Church of Latter-day Saints and were active in the church. He apprenticed to a tailor as a teenager and was drafted into the German workforce at age seventeen. He was sent to East Prussia, where most of his work consisted of sewing and repairing clothing for the German military. He was then enlisted into combat and was eventually taken prisoner by the Americans. After his release, he met and married Mickie Bauer, and they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised a family of seven children. He worked as a tailor. He passed away in 2018.
