Note on verso: "70. Cadets of the Red Academy, First Section, Pao An, North Shensi. Note the entrances to some of the classrooms of this unique school, seen in the hills to the rear. Perfect bombproof shelters are provided by these ancient cliff dwellings, in whose capacious rooms as many as three or four hundred people can be comfortably accomodated."
