Hinkle, George M. - Poem (photo copy) apparently titled, "Militia called by Col. Hinkle," set to tune "Goose Creek," and dedicated to Colonel George M. Hinkle leader of the Mormon Militia defending Far West and Caldwell County Saints, but who betrayed Prophet Joseph Smith and other church leaders, Oct. 31, 1838, which resulted in them becoming prisoners in the camp of the mob militia. Author of the poem may be Samuel Richards whose name is written on the outside cover of the hand-written poem.
