Glass plate negative of family group on Yellowstone River, 1887
Scope and Contents
Another version of photo #11 with the woman in bonnet, one older girl, and nine children, all posed among large boulders on Yellowstone River, which cannot be readily seen. (#11: At least eleven children and their woman chaperone are playing on large boulders on the north bank of Yellowstone River, near Cinnabar, Montana. The photo looks west toward the ridge of Electric Peak. They were outside of Yellowstone National Park then, but the opposite (south) bank of the river is, today, inside the park. At that time, the town of Cinnabar was located on the opposite bank and out of sight of the camera's vantage point).
