Oral history interview with David Henry Hawkins, 1999 June 16
Scope and Contents
Typescript of an interview with David E. Hawkins, conducted by Ben Bahlmann on June 16, 1999. The audiocassettes from which the transcript was made were retained by Bahlman. Hawkins was stationed with the Marines on the aircraft carrier, Enterprise, during the first months of World War II, and he participated as a gunner in the Battle of Midway. Later, he participated in the Battle of Peleliu.

Hawkins was a resident of Provo, Utah, at the time of the interview. He served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
