Joel is sick himself, but very sad that George is so ill (George would die less than a month later on Jan 21.) He has sent all the letters from Sarah to Warren, asking that he help her. (Evidently Warren has owed George money for years and has not paid it back.) Carrie hopes Sarah’s strength can hold up.
