Biographical History

Lawrence K. Olson was born on November, 6, 1931 to Pearl (Jackson) and Clinton K. Olson in Emery, Utah. After graduation from high school, the Korean War began and joined the Air Force with his friends as an effort to avoid the draft. Lawrence served as his company's photographer in Korea for over a year. He was honorably discharged in 1954 and enrolled at Brigham Young University the following year, from which he graduated in 1960. He received the Korean Ambassador of Peace Medal at the Utah State Capitol in 2014. Lawrence passed away on January 17, 2018.
