Biographical / Historical
The Brigham Young University Band was formed as early as 1906, with its first conductor being Albert Miller. In 1908, Robert Sauer took over as conductor and director of the band. The band was known by both "BYU Band" and "University Band." It was later administered by the Reserve Officer's Training Corps as the R.O.T.C. Band, eventually becoming the Cougar Marching Band in 1953.
