Biographical History
Dean A. Peterson (1913-1976) was a Business College professor at Brigham Young University.
Professor in the College of Business, 1941-1976; Administrative Assistant to President Ernest L. Wilkenson and Dallin H. Oaks, 1968-1976; Chairman of the Faculty Destiny Fund Campaign Committee, ca 1957-1961; Chairman of the College of Business Building Committee, 1959-1960; Director of the BYU Summer School, 1958-1967; Norwegian Mission President, 1963-1966. In 1951, Brigham Young University entered into an agreement with the U.S. Federal government to assist in a technical cooperation education program in Iran. Dean A. Peterson was appointed as an economic administrator which included serving as liaison for the University of Utah, Utah State Agricultural College, and Brigham Young University in behalf of their contract personnel in Iran. Peterson served 34 months during 1951-1954.

Custodial History
The Peterson papers were acquired in 1977 from the College of Business. They had been stored for many years in the Jesse Knight Building.
