Scope and Contents

Contains of a video and two DVDs, with a recording of "A Foundation of Faith." The video contains a nine and a half minute introduction to the core philosophies of Brigham Young University as well as its worldwide educational efforts featuring Jane Clayson, Steve Young, and Brigham Young University president Merrill J. Bateman. The DVD contains a similar ten minute introduction as well as a four minute piece entitled "This is BYU" and a series of four thirty second interviews with Brigham Young University president Merrill J. Bateman. The four minute piece is available in the English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish languages. The first DVD was completed in 2001. An updated version was created in 2005 and features interviews with Brigham Young University President Cecil O. Samuelson.

Brigham Young Academy was established in 1875 and became Brigham Young University in 1903. It has since grown into one of the largest private educational institutions in the United States.
