Contains administrative records including internal policies and procedures, McKay Institute details, project files, and administrative council files. Also contains files on the Destiny Program, an effort to integrate and harmonize all purposes of the college. Includes the records of Deans Stephen L. Alley and Antone K. Romney including study reports, minutes, and correspondence regarding counseling services, statistics on BYU, and enrollment. Materials date from 1942 to 2004.

Biographical History
Antone K. Romney (1902-1982) was an education professor and university administrator in Utah.
Before his time at Brigham Young University, Romney worked for the Utah State Department of Public Instruction and served as the Director of Library and Director of School Buildings, in addition to serving in other capacities. Romney joined the BYU faculty in 1946 and spent 26 years at the university, serving in various administrative capacities including Dean of Students, Chariman of Counseling Services, and Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He also served as the Dean of Education from 1961-1969. At the university he taught courses on subjects including education, philosophy, law, and comparative education. He retired in 1972 and passed away on February 24, 1982.
Biographical History
Stephen L. Alley (1915-1997) was an education professor and university administrator in Utah.
Stephen Lewis. Alley was born on September 25, 1915 in Bancroft, Idaho to George Alley and Henrietta Johnson. He graduated from Harvard University with a doctorate degree in education, as well as undergraduate degrees in Math, English, Chemistry, and History. In 1939, he married Maurine Christensen and they had four children. He served as chair of the Department of Education Philosophy and Programs from 1958 to 1962. In 1964, he was appointed as the chairman of the Department of Teacher Education and served in this capacity until 1966. From 1970-1974, Alley was the Dean of the College of Education. He was also the chairman of the Faculty Committee on Teaching. He passed away on May 13, 1997 at his home.
