Biographical HIsotry

Allyson Washburn (1947- ) is a former elementary school teacher and colligate library administrator.

Allyson Washburn was born in Los Angeles, California. Washburn is married to William Thomas Washburn. Allyson Washburn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University in 1970. Washburn taught as an elementary school teacher in Utah and California from 1970 to 1976. From 1987 to 1992 Washburn worked as a Library Media Specialist at the elementary school level.

Allyson Washburn received her Library Media Services Credential from California State University at Los Angeles in 1992. Washburn then earned her Masters of Library and Information Science from Brigham Young University in 1993. From 1993 to 2001 Allyson worked as at Dixie State College of Utah in various positions including Library Director. From 2002 to 2013 Washburn has worked in various positions at Brigham Young University in the Harold B. Lee Library.
