Biographical / Historical

BYU Broadcasting (2003- ) oversees the production of Brigham Young University's affiliated radio and television stations.

BYU Broadcasting was formed in 2003 in a reorganization of Broadcasting Services. BYU Broadcasting is run by a director, who reports to the university administration. Directors of BYU Broadcasting have included John Reim (2003-2006), and Derek Marquis (2006- ).

BYU Broadcasting oversees the production of KBYU-TV (Eleven), KBYU-FM (Classical 89), BYUTV, BYU Radio, Create, and BYU Television International. All of these programs, and BYU Broadcasting's goals, are to provide uplifting programing that is both entertaining and educational.

Biographical / Historical

Marcus L. Smith (1962- ) is a radio manager and program host in Utah.

Marcus Lidell Smith received a bachelor's degree in German from Brigham Young University in 1985. Smith went on to gain his master's degree in German literature from Brigham Young University in 1992. He has worked as a writer, editor, translator, teacher, and composer of sacred music, and has worked for BYU Broadcasting since 1998. Smith married Sarah Cox Smith in 2001 and they have five children.
