The National Advisory Council (NAC) was organized in 1966 by the leadership of the Brigham Young University College of Business. The NAC consists of prominent business leaders who are invited by the leadership of the Marriott School of Business. The Council was initially composed of thirty-five men and was formed to serve as advisors to the faculty and administration of the College of Business, providing insights and perspectives on current practices and principles from their professional experiences. Membership has since grown to over 300 men and women and the NAC's role has expanded to also include student mentorship, committee service, and advocating for the Marriott School of Business.
