Biographical History

James H. Bean (b. 1934) was a Mormon lawyer who served on the Brigham Young University Alumni Association's Board of Directors and a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law School's Board of Visitors.

James H. Bean was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on January 25, 1934 to Jesse and Barbara Bean. He had eleven children. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University in 1962, and a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University in 1966. In 1972, he was made a partner at Lindsay, Hart, Neil and Weigler LLP in Portland, Oregon. He served as the stake president of the Oregon City Stake from 1972 until 1981. He was a member of the Board of Visitors for the J. Reuben Clark Law School from 1975 to 1979. He was also a member of the Brigham Young University Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1975-1979. He was a Regional Representative of the Council of the Twelve from 1981 until 1987. He received the Silver Buffalo award from the Boy Scouts of America in 2002.
