Administrative History

In 1956, the BYU Board of Trustees authorized the creation of three new departments, breaking the Engineering Department into the departments of Civil Engineering Science, Electrical Engineering Science, and Mechanical Engineering Science. By 1963, the Department of Mechanical Engineering was firmly established.
