Administrative History

The Principal's Office (1876-1894) was the head administrative unit at Brigham Young Academy.

The position of Academy principal was established with the founding of the Academy in 1876, becoming the Office of the President in 1894 when the titles of Academy department heads were changed to principal. The office was involved in teaching, faculty recruiting, and general administration.

Brigham Young Academy principals included Warren N. Dusenberry (1876), Karl G. Maeser (1876-1892), and Benjamin Cluff (1892-1894).
