Riddle collected and compared stories about her two grandmothers who lived and raised families in Provo, Utah. Kent collected folklore and traditions surrounding the American holiday of Thanksgiving. Included are stories of a having a meal divided into courses, having a table especially for the children, and a family who didn't have a traditional turkey dinner and instead worked all day at a soup kitchen together. Larsen collected folklore surrounding the Porter family and their reunions at family property on Cove Mountain in Utah. Included are stories of dutch oven cooking competitions, descriptions of the old cabin on the property, and several stories of getting stranded there. Included are stories of a man zipping his pant fly up and accidentally catching the table cloth in it, a Stake President mouthing swear words at a driver in a fit of road rage, and a girl buying a drink at a drive through and driving away without it on accident.
