Materials contain a memoir of Harold Messick regarding his service in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic in the 29th General Hospital. Talks about being drafted at 21 and training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Camp Stoneman, California. Talks about being shipped to New Caledonia in the South Pacific, meeting Bob Hope, and taking care of Japanese as well as Americans. Dated after 1947.
