Cuthbert interviewed women who were either pregnant at the time of the interview or had been pregnant at once time about any folklore they knew involving pregnancy. Included are cures for morning sickness, suggestions that the pregnant woman should do or not do to increase the health of the baby, ways to determine the gender of the new baby, and methods to ensure a certain gender upon conception. Project was created for an English 391 course taught at Brigham Young University in 1998.
