Scope and Contents

Materials include a two-part letter written to William Wines Phelps in Kirtland, Ohio, from Sally Phelps in Liberty, Missouri. She states that she would write more if she could write better and she gives him updates and news about their family. On the back is a letter to Phelps from Alvin C. Graves. He states that has just returned from Jackson County and was not molested; he also discusses the crops that are coming in. Dated 1835.

Scope and Contents Materials include a two-part letter from the Phelps' son who was currently residing in Carson Valley, Nevada, dated July 7, 1853. It is addressed to "Mother and Father" (William Wines and Sally Phelps) and states that he is doubtful that he will return to Salt Lake City this fall. The opposite side of the letter has another letter from Phelps to his sisters, Lydia and Albina. He states that he has just heard from Thomas P. Materials include a letter to "Brother and Sister" (William Wines and Sally Phelps) from an unknown author (probably one of Phelps's siblings). The letter speaks of "our parents" and asks to hear from Sally, Sabrina, and Mehitable. It also gives news about Phelps's father's family. Undated, but from approximately 1835-1853.
