Diary written by Smith of his mission travels in Ohio. The book is covered in an oil-cloth binding with a hand-painted floral design. The tradition of the Smith family is that this cover was made by Hyrum's mother, Lucy Mack Smith. Dated 1831-1835.

Hyrum Smith letter to Hannah Grinnels and children, 1839 March 16

Letter written by Smith from Liberty Jail, this two page letter contains advice to "Sister Grinnels" and Hyrum Smith's children. "Sister Grinnels" is likely Hannah Grinnels, a woman who lived with Hyrum's family to help care for the children, The signature at the bottom of the letter has been clipped away. Dated March 16, 1839. Also includes a one page letter written by Cleone Smith Isom on August 24, 1985 clarifying the identity of those mentioned in the letter.

William Sanford letter to Hyrum Smith, 1842 July 25

Hyrum Smith letter to Thomas H. Owen, Esq., 1844 June 4

Hyrum Smith Second Addition to Nauvoo, 1841 January 23

Map shows an addition to the existing city of Nauvoo, Illinois. It was surveyed by J. Wilson Williams on January 7, 1841. It shows Wells, Bluff, and Back streets vertically on the map. The map is two sided, with the map on one side and a note relating to filing of the claim on the other. Dated January 23, 1841.
