Scope and Contents

A letter sent from the Oakey family in Kaysville, UT to the Cannon family. The letter is in an adult handwriting, but signed Sarah Oakey, who had just turned eleven. From the context it appears that it was dictated by Sarah's mother Mary Cooper Oakey and written by an adult who mistakenly applied Sarah's name. The letter is requesting that the Cannons allow Rosa Oakey, Sarah's 12 year old cousin to leave the Cannons and come with them to Bear Lake. Dated June 16, 1865.
