Contains fifteen 15 letters written by Edward Hayhurst to his father, his mother, or his brother Joseph during September 1864. The letters were written while Hayhurst was in Sherman Hospital in Nashville, still recovering from typhoid fever and the hip ulcers it caused. He was transferred to the General Hospital (also in Nashville) in mid-September.
