Restricted. Closed for 100 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Restriction Policy. Requests to access restricted materials in the University Archives should be submitted to the University Archivist.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Office of the President records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.
L. John Nuttall (1887-1944) served as acting president of Brigham Young University from 1926-1927 while Franklin S. Harris was on a world tour.
The position of Acting President is a temporary role used by the university between presidential administrations, or for other reasons. Acting Presidents have included L. John Nuttall (1926-1927) and Christen Jensen (1939-1940, and 1949-1951).
