Biographical sketch

William Wallace Casper was born 12 March 1821 in Bellville, Richland County, Ohio. A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Casper married Sarah Ann Bean on 22 January 1846 in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. In 1846 he enlisted in the Mormon Battalion. Following his discharge from the Mormon Battalion, he returned to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was reunited with his wife, Sarah Ann. Casper married Margaret Mattice on 12 February 1856 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married his third wife, Elizabeth Ann Anderson on 26 March 1864 in Salt Lake City. Casper died 17 July 1908 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
