Scope and Contents

Photographs, photocopies of the photographs, and CD-ROM of photographs of a handwritten list of the names and weights of generals, colonels, and lieutenant colonels in the United States Army in 1783. Included in the photograph are etchings of Washington's farewell to his officers and his resignation as commander of the United States Army. Also includes correspondence about the items between the Division of Manuscripts and the Library of Congress. The photograph was created by Jack V. Albretsen in 1968.
