Biographical History

Frank H. Dyer was born in Wazoo, Mississippi in 1854, served as a US Marshall, and died in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1892. Dyer was a US Marshall operating in Salt Lake City in 1887. In November 1887, he was appointed Receiver by the Supreme Court of Utah to take charge of Church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) property. Among some of the properties were the Tithing Office and the Historian's Office. On November 15, he demanded the President's Office be delivered to him. Dyer was also named Receiver in the suit of the United States against the Perpetual Emigration Fund Company. In addition to his duties as a US Marshall, Dyer was president of the Central Democratic Club of Salt Lake County.
