Topographical bibliography
Scope and Contents
List of published works on all "fortresses, cities, towns, monasteries, etc." of Europe. Entries are arranged alphabetically, with columns giving date of publicaiton, author, subject, and kingdom or province. The latest publication date is 1719, and the majority list the 17th & 18th centuries as publication dates. Most of the works listed deal with the continent of Europe, but a few entries refer to non-European countries. A note in the front of the book explains what the book is, and another note names Sir Thomas Phillips's'daughter, Henrietta Phillipps Halliwell, as the writer of the first note.
