Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten manuscript. The item is a biography of William Wilcock "as Related by Simon A. Matheson of Parowan And As Samuel Wilcock Remembers His Father." William was born in Ince, England, on 10 October 1830. He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 22 September 1857. He migrated to the United States in 1857 and to Parowan, Utah, in 1859. He was a member of the Parowan choir. He married Elizabeth Sharp on 5 November 1851. She died in 1867. He also married Elizabeth Brown in 1857. He was a machinest and mechanic and worked in numerous factories. He worked on many kinds of machinery including boilers.
