Ruth A. Aven collection
Scope and Contents note
Collection consists of newspaper clippings, a photograph, and a personal narrative, collected by Ruth Allen Aven. All the items in the collection deal with various ancestors of Aven, including her father, Samuel H. Allen, and maternal grandfather, John Lowry. The collection dates from 1887 to 1949.

Biographical History
Ruth A. Aven (1899-2000) was a family historian in California.
Aven was born April 3, 1899 in Provo, Utah, to Samuel and Ida Allen. She married Horace Aven November 24, 1927. The couple eventually moved to California, where Ruth stayed after the death of Horace in 1973. Ruth Allen Aven died April 24, 2000.
