Biographical History

Ellen A. Draper was born in 1846 and was an early settler of Utah. Much of the history deals with memoirs from her childhood. She was married in 1863 to William Lothrop Draper (1838-1887). She had eleven children, six of which lived past childhood. She accounts for the Mormon community led by President Brigham Young, as well as for early pioneer life with notes on farming and encounters with Native Americans. She died in 1939 at the age of 93.
