Four letters collected by Joseph H. Stimpson while he was serving as an LDS missionary in Japan, 1907-1910. One is from his sister, Mary from North Ogden, Utah, dated 1907, and three are in juvenile hands from a very young niece (Mary Storey) and nephew (Karl Storey), 1907-1910. 14 pages total. Also includes one cover, directed to Kofu, Yamawashi, Japan, postmarked Ogden, 1907, with some Japanese writing in red and blue.

Biographical History

Joseph Stimpson was born in 1885. He served an LDS mission to Japan in 1906 and returned to serve as mission president from 1915 to 1921. He worked as bookkeeper for a cigar company in Ogden.
