Biographical / Historical

Pleasant Green Taylor was born February 8, 1827 in Bowlingreen, Warren County, Kentucky, the son of James Taylor and Elizabeth Patrick Taylor. His family joined the LDS Church in the spring of 1832 in Missouri after hearing one sermon. Pleasant and his family witnessed many events in the early church including the Missouri persecutions, life in the city of Nauvoo, the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, the transfiguration of Brigham Young, the trek west, the Mormon Battalion, the Utah War, and Plural Marriage. Pleasant Green Taylor died May 16, 1917 in Harrisville, Weber County, Utah.
