Contains judicial conferences agenda outlines, action plans and goals of Judge J. Clifford Wallace, of the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Other miscellaneous informational papers that cover panel meetings which dealt with long range planning and bankruptcy merit are included. Papers of the Western District of Washington, East District of California Resource Committee, Hillsdale College and the Reorganization of the Ninth Judicial Circuit are also included in the collection. Dated 1975-2010.

Biographical History

John Clifford Wallace (born 1928) was a federal judge from 1970 to 1995 in the United States of America.

John Clifford Wallace was born in San Diego, California, on January 11, 1928. He attended San Diego State University where he received his bachelor's degree in 1952. He continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a part of the Boalt Hall School of Law and received his bachelors of law (LL.B.) in 1955.

Previous to his university experience, Wallace served as a U.S. Navy Second Class Petty Officer between 1946 and 1949. After earning both of his Bachelor's degrees, he was a private practitioner of law from 1955 to 1970.

On October 7, 1970, Wallace was nominated to the position of a judge in the U.S. Southern District of California Court. His service in this seat lasted until July 14, 1972, when he was then appointed to be a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Between 1991 and 1996 he served as a chief judge on the Ninth Circuit. J. Clifford Wallace achieved senior status on April 8, 1996.
