Scope and Contents
The collection contains copies of personal correspondence gathered during the tenure of Shirlee Hurst Shields on the General Activities Committee. Manuals by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about recreation, theatre, dance (with corresponding cassette tapes), communications, Family Home Evening resource book, and Young Women's camp. Activities handbooks, newsletters (including a newsletter in Spanish), a video about Church Sports, filmstrips, and yearly activity calendars. There is also papers concerning summer activities and activities for singles.

Biographical History
Shirlee Shields had a bachelor's degree in speech and a master's degree in theater. She was a dance and drama specialist. She was married to Jed Shields and lived in Salt Lake while this collection was made.
