Handwritten and signed bishop's court record of the North Kanyon Ward in Bountiful, Utah, for charges brought against LaFayette Buckland and several others for riotous conduct and breaking the peace at the home of Joseph Argyle. Document signed by Bishop John Stoker and Clerk William Thurgood in 1867. Includes a fine of twenty-five dollars that Buckland was given, to be paid within twenty days.

Biographical / Historical
The North Kanyon Ward was an ecclesiastical unit of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints in Bountiful, Utah. It was established as part of the second pioneer settlement in Utah, in what what was later known as Davis County. The settlement was referred to as Sessions' Settlement or North Kanyon Ward, until 1855, when it became Bountiful Ward. It later split to become East Bountiful Ward. The first Bishop of the ward was Orville S. Cox in 1849, followed by Anson Call in 1849, and then John Stoker in 1851.
