Biographical History

Peter Vel (1920-2007) was a fighter in the Dutch resistance during World War II.

Peter Vel was born the May 31, 1920, in Beverwijk, North Holland. When he was 18, he enlisted to serve in the Dutch East Indies Army, but was turned away. However, not long after that war broke out and Germany invaded the Netherlands. Until the end of the war, Peter fought with the Dutch resistence against the Axis powers. In 1952, he immigrated to the United States and lived in Utah until his death in 2007.
