Biographical / Historical
Savage & Ottinger (1862-1870) was an art and photography business founded by Charles R. Savage and George Martin Ottinger.
The partnership between Charles R. Savage and George Martin Ottinger was formed in 1862 after Savage's previous business partner, Marsena Cannon, left and moved to southern Utah. They grew in prominence over the years, and had some of their photographs reproduced in the magazine "Harper's Weekly." Savage and Ottinger dissolved their partnership in 1870.
