Biographical / Historical

David M. Young (1909-1999) was a civil engineer.

David M. Young was born on September 23, 1909, in Pocatello, Idaho, to parents James Floyd and Helen Margaret Clark Young. As a boy he took an interest to math and science. He graduated with a B.S. degree in civil engineering at Utah State University. He worked at the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

He married Ila Mary Johnson on January 3, 1939 in Logan, Utah. Together they had two children.

David passed away on August 11, 1999 and is buried in Midvale, Utah.
