Biographical History

Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985) was an American photographer renowned for his work during the Great Depression.

Arthur Rothstein was born July 17, 1915 in Manhattan, New York City. He graduated from Columbia University in 1934. He was hired by the Farm Security Administration during the Great Depression to publicize the conditions in rural America. He died November 11, 1985.
