Biographical / Historical
W. S. Bowman was born Walter Scott Bowman on February 8, 1865, in Pendleton, Oregon to Henry Bowman and Elizabeth Owens Bowman. He married Martha Elizabeth Carrol on November 24, 1896, in Pendleton, Oregon. After her death in 1931, he married Eugenia Decavel on June 1, 1933, in Pendleton. He worked throughout his life as a photographer and was particularly well-known for his photographs of the Round Up. He died on November 27, 1938, in Pendleton, Oregon.
