Collection includes 36 photographs and one postcard created by the Detroit Publishing Co. with images of the American West, including Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon. Images were taken between the 1890s and the 1930s, and include photochrom prints.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Detroit Publishing Co. photographs and postcard of the West must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.
The Detroit Publishing Co. was founded in 1905 through a merger of the Detroit Photographic Co. and Photochrom Co. The company declared bankruptcy in 1924 and was liquidated in 1932.
