General note
Two typed inscriptions mounted on paper: 1. "Inscription on North Side of 'Bucktail' Monument Driftwood, Pennsylvania--From this town on April 27, 1861, the Cameron County Rifles, the Elk County Rifles, and the McKean County Rifles under the leadership of Thomas L. Kane, afterwards commanding officer of the regiment, and later a major general, embarked upon 4 rafts for Harrisburg." 2. "Inscription on South Side of 'Bucktail' Monument Driftwood, Pennsylvania--This monument at the instance of the people of Cameron County was erected by the State of Pennsylvania on April 27, 1908/Colonel Edward A. Irvin, Corp. Firman F. Kirk, Sergt. William H. Ranch, Commissioners."
